Morys Cavadini graduated in law from the University of Basel and obtained authorisation to practise law in the Canton of Ticino (valid throughout Switzerland). Subsequently, he earned an LL.M. degree in International Business Law from the University of Zurich (with "Magna cum Laude" distinction).
He has served as Director/CEO of the Swiss Association of Wealth Managers (SAM) and as a Member of the Executive Board of the Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO) of SAM. He is a lecturer at the Centro Studi Villa Negroni (CSVN) in Lugano-Vezia, as well as for the CAS (Certificate of Advanced Studies) Compliance in Financial Services, jointly organized by CSVN and the Centre de Droit Bancaire et Financier of the Faculty of Law at the University of Geneva. Additionally, he is active as CDB (Agreement on the Swiss banks’ code of conduct with regard to the exercise of due diligence) investigator for the Swiss Bankers Association (SBA).
His main activity is consultancy in the field of financial and banking law, with a particular focus on compliance aspects and authorization procedures with FINMA for financial institutions such as managers of collective assets, portfolio managers, trustees, securities firms (SIMs) and banks. Additional areas of activity include representation before Swiss civil courts, arbitration courts and Swiss supervisory authorities as well as contract law, corporate law, data protection law, and labour law.
